A beautiful prayer

Apparently John Calvin began all of his lectures with the same prayer, which runs as follows:

John CalvinMay the Lord grant that we may engage in the heavenly contemplation of the mysteries of God's heavenly wisdom with ever increasing devotion to God's glory and our edification. Amen. (HT Michael Bird)

But in case you all think I've gone a bit serious on you recently and started lecturing myself, here is an example of how great my favourite Christmas present, and the greatest comic strip in history, is.

Calvin and Hobbes

Calvin: I should be doing my homework now. But the way I look at it, playing in the snow is a lot more important. Out here I'm learning real skills that I can apply throughout the rest of my life.

Hobbes: Such as?

Calvin: Procrastinating and Rationizing.
