Abraham's servants took 10 camels to find Isaac a wife. After a few days without water they could each drink about 25 gallons of water (p.56, John Walton et al, The IVP Bible Background Commentary). In which case when Rebekah watered the servant's camels until they stopped drinking she must have drawn up to 250 gallons of water from the well.
I would give up after about 20 gallons.
I think she could take me in a fight.
Awesome :D
ReplyDeleteAlthough I question your "I think", I'm afraid to say she could take most of us in a fight.
"I think" are almost always unnecessary words. So often you can miss the amazing details in the bible. We dull the vitality of it due to our distance from their life, but also overfamiliarity and overly-pietistic attitudes.
